Something to Tickle your White Brain Cells

CHALLENGE 1:


You have two mugs measuring 3 liters and 5 liters each exactly.There are no measures on the surface of the mug. There is a pond in front of you and you need exactly 4 liters of water. How would you take that out


CHALLENGE 2:

Now if you have answered the first one, get ready to face the real thing ;)

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.

The question is: Who owns the fish?




CLUES


• The Brit lives in the red house.
• The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
• The Dane drinks tea.
• The green house is on the left of the white house.
• The green homeowner drinks coffee.
• The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. .
• The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. 
• The man living in the center house drinks milk.
• The Norwegian lives in the first house.
• The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
• The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. 
• The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer. . 
• The German smokes prince.
• The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
• The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water.




I will be posting the answers after seeing how many people try it out ...  But its one hell of a game ...   ALL THE BEST guys ... Trust Me Its Nice... Its Wonderful ...

Answer to 1st. Fill the 5 litre one fully. From it pour into the 3litre one. When 3 litre one is full, empty it out. Now you have 2 lts in 5 lt one. Empty this is 3lt one. Then again fill the 5 lt one completely. Pour in the 3lt one,which already has 2lts. When the 3lts mug will be full, viola! You have 4 lts in the 5 llts mug :-D Mihir :-)

Here is the alternate answer for the first Challenge

1. Take water in three litre mug. Pour into five litre mug.

2. Then again take water in three litre mug, pour into five litre mug. It will hold only two litres, so one litre remains in the three litre mug.

3. Empty the five litre mug, pour one litre first and then three litres more using the three litres mug. The five litre mug now holds four litres.
